Bamboo is the fastest growing woody plant in the world and it plays a crucial part in Asia’s economy.  While it is not technically a tree and is actually part of the true grass family, bamboo is quickly becoming one of the most popular choices for hardwood flooring.

Bamboo only takes between five to seven years to mature and is considered a renewable resource because of its quick growth.   It is important though that when buying bamboo customers make sure their bamboo is taken from growing areas that won’t potentially destroy any habitats.

Bamboo is one of the least expensive hardwood flooring options available.  It won’t last for quite as long as some other hardwood flooring options but it’s still very sturdy and is available in an assortment of styles and finishes.
